The Rapture Report - 'US failed to convince Netanyahu to halt construction'

'US failed to convince Netanyahu to halt construction'
Written: 11-13-2010
Rapture Forum Staff: Chris

In today's news it is being reported that the US has been unable to convince Israeli PM Netanyahu to continue on with a construction freeze in the West Bank areas where there are already established Jewish communities. The Israelis for their part are not building in new areas that might be part of a future Palestinian state, but instead they are building in areas where they already have a presence and where the land is expected to be in a future Israeli state. The Palestinians for their part are simply trying to make a mountain out of a molehill in regards to focusing on the supposed "settlement" issue. The Jerusalem Post reports:

Israeli intransigence regarding the issue of settlement construction is the reason behind the current crisis in the peace process, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said on Saturday. Abbas’s remarks came during a phone conversation with British Foreign Secretary William Hague and a meeting in Ramallah with US Consul-General Daniel Rubinstein.

Abbas told the two that halting the construction was the only way to resume the stalled peace talks with Israel. A PA official said that the US consul general briefed Abbas on the results of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s talks in the US last week. The official claimed that the Americans failed again in convincing Netanyahu to agree to a full cessation of settlement construction in return for the resumption of the peace talks.

As a result of Israel's correct move in not resuming the settlement freeze, the Palestinians for their part are threatening to go to the UN and have a Palestinian state recognized based in on 1967 borders. The irony here is that the Palestinians are in not shape to have a functioning state in place but also the fact remains that they continue to refuse to recognize Israel. How does this work that the Palestinians would think that they could get recognition for a state when they won't even formally recognize the Israeli state that already exists? The answer is that the Palestinians will not recognize Israel as their aim and goals are to ultimately replace Israel with a Palestinian state. It is clear to me that the initial recognition of a Palestinian state in the West Bank is the first step of a phased plan to ultimately rid the Middle East region of Israel and the Jews. The Palestinians want an area where they can control completely without interference from the Israelis. This of course would mean that all sorts of weapons, missiles, etc. could be brought into this newly formed state and be used to completely surround Israel on every side. With the Hezbollah terrorist group in the north and Hamas in the south, the creation of a Palestinian state in the West Bank would mean that terrorists factions have completely surrounded the Israelis. This to me is certainly a recipe for disaster.

The Jerusalem Post article goes on to further report:

Chief PA negotiator Saeb Erekat announced over the weekend that the Palestinians may ask the US to recognize a Palestinian state on the 1967 lines if the Americans fail to pressure Israel to stop the construction in one month. “If the US can’t oblige Israel to stop the settlements during this month, we will ask the US to recognize a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, including East Jerusalem,” Erekat said.

He pointed out that 107 countries have recognized the Palestinian state and that the Palestinians have official embassies in dozens of countries. “Unfortunately, the US still hasn’t recognized us,” he said. “Also, there are 21 EU states that haven’t recognized us although we have representative offices there.”

So far the US has not recognized a Palestinian state but given the current political atmosphere in the US, it is thought by many experts that US President Obama might give in and recognize an independent Palestinian state on 1967 borders. This would political and national suicide for Israel. But as history has shown Obama has clearly sided with the Islamic terrorists and his fellow brethren when it comes to relations with Israel. Immediately after the political earthquake in the US with the recent elections, Obama was found in Indonesia making more gestures and appeasements to the Islamists. This is the same type of behavior he exhibited when he took office and gave his famous speech in Cairo apologizing for America's past behavior in regards to supporting Israel rather than the Islamists. This was all part of Obama's plan to try to improve the image of the US in the eyes of the Islamic world. For all of this appeasement, the same has not been returned to Obama. The Islamists have essentially spit on him and humiliated him for not doing exactly as they please. Which is namely to help them destroy Israel.

With the recent elections behind us and the fact that Obama has essentially lost control of the domestic political agenda in the country, it is being suggested by experts that Obama may start to focus intensively on trying to "force" a deal in the Middle East. And of course, this deal won't be favorable for Israel, it could in fact result in national suicide if it were not for the fact that the Bible states that God will supernaturally intervene on behalf of the Israelis. This will come in the form of supernatural interventions in the Ezekiel 38-39 conflict where a Russian led moslem coalition will make one final move to destroy Israel once and for all. Despite the dark moves and evil plots being hatched against Israel, the God of Israel is not asleep nor slumbering. He is attentively focused on the Middle East and the apple of his eye - Israel. Nothing the evil ones do will come as a surprise to him, he has a perfect plan for all this shameful plots being made against his chosen people the Jews.

As the peace process remains stalemated and things appear to be headed towards conflict. We need to remember to continue to watch the region as things could easily get out of hand at anytime. With the Palestinians threatening to unilaterally declare a Palestinian state soon, this could set the tone for conflict. As a result it is imperative that we stay tuned of the latest developments.

God bless.
