The Russian Bear Shows It's Claws and Teeth Next Door to Israel

With the conflict in Syria growing more out of control with each passing day, a new article reports that Russia has been "showcasing" it's strength in Syria. This includes the use of new warplanes, missiles, and tactics that show that Russian President Putin has been modernizing the Russian military. The Business Insider reports:
Experts are saying that Russia's military is more advanced than everyone thought, and that Syria has allowed it to showcase its progress to the world. Russia has used a new aircraft that has never before appeared in war, and is launching new cruise missiles from the Caspian Sea that can travel more than 900 miles further than their American equivalent.
"This is an amazingly capable new weapon," Michael Kofman, a fellow at the Kennan Institute in Washington, DC, told The New York Times. Russian battle tactics and strategy have advanced, too.
"What continues to impress me is their ability to move a lot of stuff real far, real fast," Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges, commander of the US Army forces in Europe, said, per The Times. This shows that Russian President Vladimir Putin has successfully modernized a military many thought was behind its Western counterparts.
While the Russians have been recently taking the lead in Syria, it has been reported that Russian armed troops have been operating along with Iranian troops not far from the Israeli border. Recent video provided by a Russian drone shows that Damascus is taking a beating from the bombings and fighting that is going on. The city is definitely headed towards being a "heap of ruins" as mentioned in Isaiah 17. But while Damascus is battered, I believe something major must happen in the future to cause the city to fulfill the prophecy whereby it become a "heap of ruins and ceases to be a city" according to the Bible. I am keeping my eyes open on this situation and I encourage my readers to do the same. I believe that when Bible prophecy fulfillment happens in the Middle East, it usually does so pretty quickly. Even a quick blink and something could happen!
The modernization of the Russian military appears to me to be a major development as it would explain why Russia would lead the coalition of Israel's enemies on an invasion of the Holy Land as spoken of in Ezekiel. A weak and rusted Russian military would not be able to do such a task. But as the Business Insider article shows, the Russian Bear is wide awake out of hibernation and is in many ways showing its claws and teeth. All of this just outside the Israeli borders. This should be a major red flag for students of Bible prophecy.
I have a very strong feeling that things are lining up for the possible fulfillment of the Ezekiel 38-39 conflict. While it could still take a while for the event to take place, it is very prophetic that Russia is involved militarily on the doorsteps of Israel. There have been news reports that show that Israel's leaders are also concerned about this development as well. And rightly so. But as Ezekiel 38-39 shows us, the God of Israel is well aware of the evil intentions of Israel's enemies and of their future plans for Israel. I believe the more Russia experiences success in Syria, the more likely it is they will get the "evil thought" of making a move on Israel.
With the recent discoveries or abundant oil and natural gas reserves off Israel's coast, Israel has definitely become a potential "spoil" as the prophet Ezekiel warned thousands of years ago. At this point in history we currently have the three main players (Russia, Iran, and Turkey) in the Ezekiel 38-39 prophecy involved in fighting militarily next door to Israel. We definitely need to keep an eye on these developments.
As we see these prophetic puzzle pieces moving into place, we need to remember to keep looking up for the blessed hope of the rapture. Many people see the rapture happening before the Ezekiel 38-39 conflict, due to the fact that it appears that God has once again placed his focus on Israel. And it is often noted that God usually does not focus on both Israel and the Church at the same time.
So, if God is going to change his focus to Israel in Ezekiel 38-39 and we see the prophetic puzzle pieces coming into play, then it means the rapture could be even closer than it appears. But whether it is or not remains to be seen. We need to always be looking up for the blessed hope of the rapture of the church as it is imminent and can happen at any time. Like just when you least expect it.
Folks, we are living in very interesting and prophetic times. The ancient prophecies are coming true and even more of them are getting into place to be fulfilled. Keep looking up, for our redemption is drawing nigh!
