Israel All Alone
Rapture Forum Staff: Chris
Welcome to the latest version of the Rapture Report. Today we will cover recent events in the Middle East region and see how things are playing out in regards to Israel and her enemies.
According to Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Palestinian "resistence" is a source of pride for all moslems. A YnetNews reports:
Iran's official news website reported that the Iranian president called Haniyeh on the occasion of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and expressed his support for the Palestinian people. Today, the resistance in Palestine is a source of pride for all Muslims and freedom lovers in the world," Ahmadinejad said. "The Palestinian nation is fighting against the most despicable people on the face of this earth...the resistance, which is burning in the faith of the Palestinian nation, is shaking up the Zionist enemy."
It appears that Iran is steadfastly behind the Palestinian people and approving of any methods in so called resistence of the so called "occupation" of their lands. Haniyeh was further quoted as saying:
"The Palestinian nation will never recognize Israel, and the banner of resistance will never be put down," he said, while slamming the Gaza Strip siege.
So, after all the peace talks that have been held between the Israelis and Palestinians, it appears that any goodwill gestures, etc. given to the Palestinians will be just be empty gestures and won't be reciprocated by the Palestinians. As we've talked about this in previous Rapture Reports, Israel is making a huge mistake in giving up land and other things to people who have no genuine desire for peace. To further illustrate the point, a Jerusalem Post article quotes Hizbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah as stating:
Hizbullah chief Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah voiced his opinion on Thursday about the various peace processes currently underway in the Middle East, saying that as long as Israel exists, there will never be peace in the region. "As long as Israel exists and its eyes are honing in on the territories of other states, the world will not know peace in the Middle East," Nasrallah said during an interview with Iran Broadcasting (IRIB). "The region will not see the light of peace and stability," he continued, adding that this was due to the "aggressiveness and the natural militancy of Israel."
Nasrallah also went on to warn against the so called Israeli aggression by stating:
On that point, Nasrallah warned of the dire consequences of any future Israeli attack either against his organization, its host state, or any other state or entity with which he is allied. "Any Israeli attack against Lebanon, Iran, Syria, or the Gaza Strip will be answered with a harsh response," he said. "Our position is stronger than it has ever been - from the logistical point of view, militarily and in numbers. Lebanon as a whole is united against one enemy: Israel."
While Israel continues to hold meetings with the Palestinians over the so called peace process, Israel's enemies have made it clear that there will be no peace in the future as long as Israel continues to exist in the Middle East region. All efforts of the various Palestinian groups will be aimed at one common goal of defeating and eliminating the Israelis. Even so, the international community continues to pressure Israel into make insane gestures and compromises with the Palestinians.
In other news, it is being reported in the Haaretz Newspaper that Israel had asked the United States for military weapons and an air corridor through Iraq for a possible strike on the Iranians. The current indications are that the United States has refused the current Israel request. This is not good as we should be supporting Israel in their attempts to protect themselves and deal with the Iranian nuclear threat. The newspaper article goes on to state:
The security aid package the United States has refused to give Israel for the past few months out of concern that Israel would use it to attack nuclear facilities in Iran included a large number of "bunker-buster" bombs, permission to use an air corridor to Iran, an advanced technological system and refueling planes. Officials from both countries have been discussing the Israeli requests over the past few months. Their rejection would make it very difficult for Israel to attack Iran, if such a decision is made.
As we can see from the following article, the current situation on the ground is not looking good for the Israelis. Israel's enemies continue to show no backing down from their sworn threats to rid the world of Israel, and Israel's main ally the US is currently not being cooperative in giving Israel the military support they need to deal with Iran.
With time running out on dealing with the Iranian nuclear situation, we need to pray that the United States changes course on her decisions not to supply Israel with the needed military arms, etc. and that our leaders have the courage to continue to support Israel in these last days. The Lord was very clear that he will bless those that help Israel, and he will curse those that do not help Israel. America has been blessed for a long time now, basically since our founding as a nation. But our current dealings and refusals to help Israel with the needed weapons will not help us in the eyes of the Lord. Let us pray for our nation and as well as our leaders, and that we stand with Israel during these difficult times.
