Bolton to Israel: Attack, It's Your Right
Rapture Forum Staff: Chris
Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton said in an interview yesterday that Israel should process with an attack on Iran as it was clear to him that the Obama administration was not going to do anything about Iran. These comments are exactly what we have been reporting and saying here in the Rapture Report for quite some time now. I do not think there are many people who believe U.S. President Obama will launch an attack on Iran to keep it from obtaining nuclear weapons. The Israel National News reports:
Former U.S. Ambassador to the UN, John Bolton, said in an interview published Friday that he does not believe President Barack Obama will order an attack on Iran, now or in the future, and urged Israel to attack Iran's nuclear program on its own.
Ambassador Bolton also stated that he believes that the Obama administration has accepted an Iran with nuclear weapons and that the plan now was for "containment" of Iran's nuclear program similar to the way the U.S. contained Russia during the Cold War. John Bolton also believes that there is no way to deal with Iran's nuclear program at this time except by the use of force. According to the INN:
Speaking to Maariv's Tzach Yoked, Bolton said that "there is no way at this stage to prevent Iran from going nuclear without use of force. It is very unfortunate in my opinion, but I see no possibility that Obama will use military force, and therefore it falls upon Israel. I think that even though the Administration says that containment is not its policy, it will become its policy the day after Iran possesses nuclear weapons. They won't like it, but they do believe that a nuclear Iran can be contained, just as we contained the nuclear Soviet Union during the Cold War."
I believe that John Bolton has hit the nail on the head here in his assessments of the current situation. Just a few weeks ago there was a report that a top U.S. military official said that there were differing opinions between the U.S. and Israel on the severity of the Iranian nuclear program. The U.S. of course took a more laid back approach to the matter as Iran is not an immediate threat to the U.S. like it is to Israel. Israel understandably took a more urgent assessment of the situation and tensions have been on the rise for a while now. I believe that the Obama administration has purposefully strung Israel along with empty words of "all options on the table" in order to buy more time for the upcoming November elections. I believe the plan right now is to try to foil an Israeli strike by continuing to leak critical and time sensitive information out through the liberal Israeli media in order to try to tie Netanyahu's hand behind his back. As many of us are aware there have been numerous "leaks" in the liberal Israeli media that can be attributed to the Obama administration trying to hold off an Israeli strike on Iran.
Over the last few months we have seen an increase in verbal threats coming from the current Israeli government about possible war preparations and striking Iran. In fact the Israeli government has told their citizens to prepare for war in the near future. This tells me that Netanyahu maybe planning to do something before the U.S. elections in order to guarantee support from the U.S. as Obama would not want to be seen turning his back on the pivotal Jewish vote that he needs to win the elections. So the plan for the Obama administration is to try to get Israel to wait until after the elections before doing anything if at all. Ambassador Bolton went on to support Israel's right to self defense. The INN article went on to report:
"Iran is not in a race for building one or two bombs," Bolton continued. "I think they believe that time is on their side and they will continue with what seems like a well thought-out plan, mostly because they believe that the United States under Obama's leadership will do nothing. And of course, they are afraid of Israel, but I think they trust Obama to pressure Israel not to do anything, and until now this has proved right."
"I think Israel, like any other country, has a legitimate right to self defense," Bolton told Maariv. "Israel has twice attacked enemies that were developing nuclear weapons, and it has the right to do so in this case as well."
Bolton went on to further say that he thought the U.S. should be the one to strike Iran as the U.S. has the greater chance of seeing the job done all the way through to a successful conclusion. I would agree with that assessment but it appears that attacking Iran over their nuclear program is a no go for Obama as he is afraid that starting another conflict would sink his chances for re-election. So basically Obama is sacrificing our ally Israel for basically another four years in office. I believe if Obama was sincere about helping Israel he would have already gone along with a strike and still had time to make a successful run in the election. However, Obama has chosen to play his cards the safest way possible while Iran continues full steam ahead with their nuclear program.
With signs appearing that Israeli PM Netanyahu is getting impatient with the unsuccessful international sanctions that have so far failed to stop Iran, I think it is just a matter of time before Netanyahu gives the orders to attack. For this reason we need to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for the safety of the IDF that will have the monumental task of stopping Iran. We could literally wake up one morning soon to smoking and burning Iranian nuclear reactors on our T.V. sets. While the time appears to be closing in for a strike, we need to realize that we are getting closer and closer to the fulfillments of Bible prophecy. We literally could be on the cusp of Psalm 83 and eventually Ezekiel 38-39 but only time will tell for sure. But if things continue the way they are going now it could be soon. Keep looking up for the blessed hope of the rapture. As we see these things coming down the prophetic highway it should remind us that Jesus is coming soon! Keep looking up!!
