Rapture Forum Staff: Chris
Late last night news reports were coming in that the U.S. Had made an extraordinary feat of killing Osama bin Laden in a Pakistan city located right outside of the capital city of Islamabad. The announcement was greet by a cheers from a small group of Americans that were hanging out in front of the White House.
Late last night U.S. President Obama announced formally that U.S. troops had with the aid of Pakistan Intelligence Services made the shocking turn of events nearly 10 years of the 9/11 events. The immediate questions being asked is how Osama bin Laden was living in a mansion out in the open near the Pakistan capital? The initial questions indicate that there could be further strain on relations between the U.S. and Pakistan. The reports coming in as this story develops is that Osama bin Laden may have been living far away from the mountainous caves that he was once thought to be hiding and in fact living very close to the Pakistan leadership. One U.S. official stated that Pakistan had a "lot of explaining to do" especially considering the face that bin Laden was living according to some reports only 1,000 yards from a Pakistani military installation.
The good news is that one of the most dangerous terrorists in the world has been eliminated at the world will have one less thing to worry about for the time being. However, as one terrorist is taken out many more fill the void. This is likely the scenario with bin Laden. While the head of the snake of the organization call Al-Qaeda has been struck a serious blow, the fact is there are numerous people in line to take his place.
But despite the fact that others will take his place the recent events will show the terrorists and the rest of the world that the U.S. Will not rest in it's quest to find and apprehend terrorists who strike out at America and it's allies. While we celebrate the recent victory of eliminating bin Laden, let us pray that many of these people come to know the loving and saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Just what effect this will have in the immediate future is unknown as many U.S. military installations and bases went on on higher level of alert after the announcement. One thing is certain and that is that there could be some immediate retaliatory action taken against the U.S. and it's allies as we continue the "war on terror" that started during the George W. Bush administration. Let us pray for our men and women who serve in our armed forced and that the Lord protect them as they go about their work in protecting this great country of ours.
