Bible Code Prophecy

Question: What is Bible Code Prophecy?
Answer: One of the most fascinating yet controversial topics in the Christian community lately has been the subject of Bible code prophecy and has attracted much attention has been attached to the subject. Basically, Bible code prophecy is the discovery of certain words or phrases that are closely situated to each other in the Bible. In order to find these "clusters" of Bible code prophecies one must oftentimes use specialized software to search the Bible for this hidden words and phrases that are seen by some as divine revelations being scattered throughout the scriptures.
But while the topic of Bible code prophecy can be fascinating and interesting, there are several important questions and concerns that are eventually raised. One of these questions is why God would "hide" important knowledge in the Bible when he could easily reveal the information in the Bible in a straight forward manner. Another question is did God "hide" information in the Bible for a specific reason and for a specific time period in mankind's history? The development of the modern computer has put a tremendous amount of knowledge into the hands of men and has made searching the scriptures much easier, but at times I wonder if we are taking things a little too far on the subject of Bible code prophecy. You see, it has been shown that if you search major novels like "Moby Dick" you can also find "hidden" words and phrases that deal with history, so the fact is that this interesting subject is not relevant to only the Bible. It can apparently be replicated across other non-religious books.
So for these reasons, while Bible code prophecy is an interesting subject, it just doesn't seem to fit to me that God would "hide" information in the Bible. However, I do not know the mind of God, so I leave open a slim possibility that God did possibly leave the door open to this subject. God knew beforehand that mankind would develop computers and that he would be able to increase his knowledge drastically with the aid of such computers. God's knowledge and wisdom is infinite, nothing is able to surprise him, so it is not beyond the realm of possibility that he could have provided us with important knowledge about the future in the Bible code prophecy. However, I tend to stick to studying God's word directly through the Holy Bible, without the need to use software to try to find things hidden in the Word. It is my personal belief that we should stick to the Holy scriptures as they are presented to us and to not delve into possible speculation. God has given us everything we need to know in his written Word, the Word that we can read straight forward.
Another point to consider is that Jesus and all the other people in the history of mankind did not need to use Bible code prophecies to understand the Word of God. The written Bible provides straight forward explanations about the creation account, the problem of sin, and the redemption process found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So why should we need or require Bible code prophecy? The answer is that I don't think we do, we have everything we need in the written Word of God.
